Desperate to escape your office desk?

For those of you who ache for something more than the ping of another email and the relentless digital slew of information, gardener Dan Pearson’s interview on Desert Island Discs is like a deep breath of fresh air.

It begins “There’s nothing quite like the feeling of freedom that comes when you combine the cerebral and the physical.’

And ends with Dan saying ‘I think you have to work with things that you love, I don’t think you can compromise, so you have to choose the things that you really want to be close to you and grow them as well as you possibly can.’

A lesson for life?

Take some time out this lunch-time and listen to it (here’s the link), I promise it will inspire AND relax you, even if you’ve no interest in growing your own courgettes!

Breathe in…;)
